  1. The poem by e.e. cummings is called, "anyone lived in a pretty how town." It talks about how men and women (both little and small) didnt care for anyone in the second stanza.
    In the fifth stanza it talks about how "someone married their everyones" which I think means that everyone started to care for everyone again.

  4. Hi!!! :) :) :)
    I think e e cummings was a very interesting man. In his poems he scrambled the words and punctuation, which made them unusual. But I like how he made it like a word puzzle, so you had to think really hard to figure it out. My favourite poem of his was Grasshopper. It was challenging to figure out, and at the end it left me thinking. And it was shaped like a grasshopper, and he wrote things like LEAP! in the middle. I also like that in l(a, (I'm not sure how to say it) he made it like a leaf falling down to the ground. I like e e cummings' poems because he made them fun and challenging.
    See ya!!! :) :) :)

  5. The poems from e.e cummings was fun to decode and I also liked how it was a different type of poem. My favorite poem that E.E cummings wrote was grasshopper because it was jumping just like a grasshopper. I agree with e.e cumming that you don't have to put correct punctuation. I enjoyed reading his poems. He was an amazing poet who expressed new kinds of poems.

  6. I think it is like a math problem and I find it very diffrent from other poems it is very interresting.I like how he draws with his writing.It has no pattern but yet it is considered more than a poem, It is considered wonderful art, but I think it is even more than that.

  7. I think that either e.e. cummings was deathly crazy or the most creative person in the history of the world. The poem 'r-p-o-p-h-e-s-s-a-g-r' or 'grasshopper' was amazing because of the fact that he made it into a connect the dot situation.

  8. Hi. It's me again.

    ee cummings' "L(A" is a . . . confusing poem. It was written in ( ) and outside of them. It is written like this;

    "L(A"

    l(a
    le
    af
    fa
    ll
    s)
    one
    l
    iness

    If it was written by someone else, it would look somewhat like this;

    a leaf falls
    loneliness

    ee cummings is an unusual poet. He writes things in a random order. He would put an ! in the middle of a sentance - or even a word! I mean, he would write this sentence;

    I like cookies, like this;

    !I?
    (cook.ies)
    li:ke

    So messed up . . . or as some people think. ee cummings thought that this was perfectly fine writing. When he would want to publish something, people would look at the title (if there was any) and then put it down and never look at it again. Some people don't understand that everyone/thing is different. All ee cummings wanted to do was be different. So that was normal for him. But people still wouldn't read his poetry. But now people have realized what I just said and, many years after he died, published his work.

    All of hhis poems are were like that. He would write them, he would get rejected, he died, and then people would puplish them. Sad.

    So anyway, I really like his poems because they were different. They weren't what people would think of when then think of poetry. They would think (in most cases;)

    Poetry. . . neat and tidy, written in a sertain form.

    They wouldn't think of how ee cummings would writes his poems.

    Thanks for reading!

  9. I appriciate the poems by e. e. cummings, more than other poems, because they are more interesting than the others. They make you think, so when you read them you understand the message better, than when reading other poetry.

  10. Hi!!!!!
    I like e.e.cummings poems because they are unusually interesting and make me think. His personality is in his poems and that is what is important. I don't think the punctuation matters because your not sharing your mind how it is, your changing it for others and when I write poems I want my mind to be shared the way it is. My Favourite poems of his are !blac and The Sky Was Candy Luminous. I like !blac because the idea of the poem interests me and I could read two different ways. I am not sure why, but this poem speakes to me and I think I know what he was feeling when he wrote this, and I feel the same way when I read it. The reason I like The Sky Was Candy Luminous is because it make me feel happy. The poem sounds like a fiarytale I would like to be in, almost like candyland or omething like that.I think that e.e.cummings was a different person and wasn't afraid to be crazy in his poetry. e.e. cummings is my new favourite poet because his poems sort of define my personatlity and I like that!

  11. e.e.cummings had his own little world when he wrote his poems. A world where he was free from spelling, grammer, punctuation, and the publics opinion. His poems were rejected from his modern day public, but are famous in our modern day public. His poems like l(a are short(this one being 4 words long.) but they get there point across.

  12. The r-p-o-p-h-e-s-s-a-g-r was very interesting because all of E.E. Cumming's poems were much more than a scatter of scrambled words, it may contain a picture like in the r-p-o-p-h-e-s-s-a-g-r there was a picture of a grasshopper in the words. I liked E.E. Cumming's poems because they made you think about the words with scrambled words, because you have to unscramble the words and then you find the order in which you read the words. I personally think that it would be better if it was even more scrambled. E.E. Cummings is a poet that has unusual but strange style, I wish E.E. Cummings had made more scrambled poems. His poems were very fun to read because you had to think about what order you had to read it in because some words were interjected by a scrambled word. I wish E.E. Cummings had not died.

  13. I found e.e.cummings life is very interesting. Especially when I looked at his poetry. The first poem in the boooklet, Grasshopper, was actually scrambled so it was actually spelled like this r-p-o-p-h-e-s-s-a-g-r. I was trying to read it and I thought at first that there was something wrong with his type writer. But when Mrs. Walter told us that it was actually grasshopper, then my eyes started to shine with interest.

  14. I think that E.E Cummings is a very creative poet, and I like his poems because you have to work to understand what the poem is about, and what it means. I like the poem I(a because it kind of gives you the feeling that it is about a falling leaf. This is because of the columns and of the kind of wonder that it gives you when you are trying to read it. All of them take a while to understand , and when you do understand it, most people will humor it.

  15. I really like the poems of e. e. cummings because the "different" punctuation made me feel like I don't have to be perfect. I also think it's really cool that he made a picture of a grasshopper in the words. The hidden messages in the poems really make you think. Most people would look at it and their mind would go blank. I think e. e. cummings might have been criticized for being different.

    Like William Blake, he was also an amazing artist and I think his art had a lot of meaning to him. You might have thought that his art might have been messed up too, but his art was the complete opposite of his poetry.

    e. e. cummings was a very skilled poet and artist. 1000 years from now, people will still look at his poetry and be amazed.

  16. I like e.e cummings poems because you have to unscrabble it to read it. It's kind of like a puzzle. My favorite poem my e.e cummings is grasshopper. I like it because it's in the shape of a grasshopper and when your reading it the word grasshopper just inturupts you. I also like the poem !blac. I don't know why I like it. It just speaks to me when I read.

    I like e.e cummings because he wasn't afraid to be different.I think where your punctuation is doesn't matter it's the meaning of the poem that matters. And in e.e cummings poems he had puctuation all over the place, but it didn't change the poem. It just made it different. That's why e.e cummings is my new favorite poet.

  17. When I first looked at some of E.E. Cumings work i thought it was just letters and punctuation put in random places, and he's dumb. Now i see Cumings is extremely smart and talented. His poem Grasshoper (r-p-o-p-h-o-p-e-r) really made me think. When I figured it out I realized that it made a lot of sence all of his poems do. r-p-o-p-h-o-p-e-r also has a part in it that is shaped like a grasshoper. All of his poems have great meaning like l(a it talks about loneliness. alltogether E.E Cumings is a intellegent great poet.

  18. I like e.e.cummings because he thinks different then other poets. He thinks that names shouldn't be capitalized because everyone is equal in importance. The fact that he doesn't care about punctuation makes me sort of proud. It means that punctuation isn't the most important thing in the world. I liked the poem l(a better than r-p-o-p-h-e-s-s-a-g-r (grasshopper) because it makes more sense, even though I do like the grasshopper shape of the grasshopper poem and I like how the image of the grasshopper jumps in and out. I don't like some of his other poems. The're just not as fun to solve.
    Thanks for reading!

  19. E.E Cummings didn't use that much punctuation because maybe he liked the idea of the freedom. He wanted more of maybe quality and creativeness.
    The idea of that freedom, that strength, intrigued me because it was more of a personal message than a poem to me.
